a1247, I hate to tell ya, but you are just a number to me. ;-) Congrats

This came a complete suprise to me. After the bowl game I was looking at the numbers and I had figured Cougarbib2 had won. I even went as far as to send him a private message telling him congrats. Im not sure anyone looked but Bib nailed Tulsas passing yardage and I reall thought it was going to be enough for him to be the winner. He was so consistent all year long.



I would like to say there was some formula that I was using to come up with my number every week but there wasnt. I would look at each teams averages and after that it all came down to gut feel. A number would come into my mind and I would go with it. One game I made the mistake of going back in and changing my numbers. I blew that game. If I had just kept my numbers were they were I would have done so much better. Rule number one and its my only rule, never change my numbers after I set my prediction.



I love the prediction game her on CC, I love the live chats during the game (when I am not at the game ;) ) Cougarabib2 and Lawboy you two kept the game close all year and I loved going up against you and everyone else here on CC. It was a fun and at times frustrating year but I cant wait for next year to start. GO COUGS! :)

The bowl game sunk my chances. Our offense was way off the mark on my predictions.

A1247 did congratulate me by PM - which surprised me, because I was way off on the points on the Bowl game and way off on Tulsa rushing. Traveling, with iPad and iPhone, I had no way to see what others posted, but even after A congratulated me, and as I indicated in the reply that was stuck in my outbox - iJail - I hoped he was right, because I felt it had slipped away.



Ironically, I did submit a change in a thread since my iPhone could not see my original post let alone change it. I missed the deadline trying to get wifi for a brand-new air book in the Starbucks parking lot only to have the battery die and my son could not fire up his slow PC fast enough.



But Hawk obliged and made the change. I thinkbif he had been harsh due to me missing the deadline, I might have been better off. I had gone back to say never mind so as not to put Hawk in a tough position or to create confusion, but he had said ok and the game had not started.



IDK what I had before other than it was more conservative and might have helped.



Anyway - A is probably right - go with first instinct.



Congrats to the champ from the back-up. It was fun. I think A having the guts to predict TCU winning was wisdom, indeed. Or was that someone else.



The reason I did not do basketball was probably due to being addicted to football.

It's true, CougarBib probably would have won if he had not changed his guesses at the last minute. Or if I had been mean enough to say I'm not changing them for you! Alas, the rest is history!

I actually know more, I was just too lazy to play ;)
