Poor Jimmer

He might be on one of the most selfish and dysfunctional teams in the NBA. The sooner Paul Westphal designs the offense around Jimmer the better they'll be.

If the trend continues, Coach W will be gone by end of season. That team looks is disarray. Isaiah Thomas is a huge ball hog for being even a rookie. I think that culture is shot.

I spoke with someone that attended the Portland game and they were surprised at how isolated jimmer appeared during warm ups. He seemed to be an outsider to the team. He was fielding his own practice shots, and no one was talking to him.

Maybe that's just how he gets ready. I don't know that I would read anything into that. I'm sure we'll see this hole thing explode or settle down over the next few weeks.

Maybe. But I sense it, and I could be overly and homerly sensitive, he even has to call for the ball on the court. I would think with this culture of selfishness that hearing the Maloof Bros fawning over Jimmer's ability to sell merchandise has got this team of young, narcissistic group a bit miffed. They don't want him to shine too brightly. They all want the ball. And they all want to score. Not bad in itself, but he's a slow, short, white guy loved by owners and fans more than he "should be" from their angle. And less than they should be. Just my opinion.

I agree with DM. I think some of the other "stars" may feel that if the Maloofs were told by the NBA they had to start over with their roster and could only keep one player, that player would be Jimmer.



So Jimmer is trying to find his way on a team of players that may not want him. Which is a mistake. Because in the three Kings' games I've watched, the Kings are at their best when Jimmer is on the floor and running things. When he's in control, he is making the rest of the team better.



When he's an ancillary piece, he doesn't play as well and the team doesn't play as well either.

I hope Jimmer isn't falling into "they like me better than you" kind of stuff, "So eat it." I don't think he would given his character and ability to handle all the press he received last year without it going to his head completely.

I also recall one of the "team leaders" describing Jimmer in very positive ways before the season started. So it sounds like he was playing it right during preseason. If he keeps up his assists players will start to realize where their bread is buttered--that is is Coach W sets this team up for success and doesn't let the egos run it amok. Maybe the team will start to shake down and without a long preseason, those kinks weren't able to get worked out on such a young team.

Yeah, I think Jimmer is just trying to figure out the NBA right now. He'll be okay.

I am sure that Marcus Thornton feels very threatened because he and Jimmer are both undersized combo guards who are primarily scorers/shooters.



Also in Jimmer doesn't get over screens ever- which forces everyone else to hustle to cover up his mistakes.

He figured it out in college once he got his feet underneath him. He's still figuring out the NBA.

What a terrible analysis. Jimmer is the only team player on that roster. His shooting hasn't been great but he is getting a lot of minutes because he is the most respected player on the floor and he creates for others. Did you see the game tonight? Jimmer and Isaiah played pretty much all of the 2nd half because they pass to each other and made the team better. Neither is great on D but Tyreke and Thornton have zero hustle. Jimmer should start right now and I suspect that time will be coming soon because the starting backcourt is historically selfish and egotistical.

One game. I know, but last night's 6 - 12, and 4 -6 from 3 point land (17 total points) is dang good. Jimmer doubters will be proven wrong .

I watched some of the game last night- it seem like several King players went out of their way to keep the ball out of Jimmer's hands. He still gets lost on screens consistently but he can run a pick and roll. He has beena willing passer and he can shoot. I don't understand what is going on in Sacramento.

That Ball club is disheveled almost at all levels. Im glad to see Coach W leaving in Jimmer. He will figure it out. The Kings are the old Clippers. Poor, poor Jimmer. At least he's getting PT and productivity.

The Kings truly do have a good deal of players who just seem allergic to sharing the ball. There's a reason they're dead last in assists. They only average 14 a game... that's 8-10 assists behind the teams with the most assists per game. Jimmer only averages half an assist less per game than the team leader in assists, Tyreke Evans, with 3. Cousins and Thornton might be the worst ball hogs on the team, one can't commit to playing with the team among other bouts of immaturity and the other hasn't been able to hit anything the last few games. Good team there!

So, if the Kings average 14 assists a game and Jimmer is just shy of 3 assists/game that essentially means Jimmer coming off the bench accounts for 1/5 of the teams' assists. Not too bad.



It won't be long until the Jimmer effect wears off Sacremento. Jimmer fans will get tired of watching the Kings lose and Jimmer be isolated.

Also they don't seem to want to play him as a point guard. He rarely has the ball in his hands.

Don't look at +/-. It's a dumb stat. Two nights ago, the Kings combined +/- was -78, the Bulls? was like +112. The Bulls won by 18. +/- would have suggested a 34-pt margin of victory.
