Stupid Utah.

That is all.

Actually feeling pretty bittersweet about them winning. I really want BYU to get in the top 25. I think GT would've passed us if they had won. Utah now has 8 wins, but they have too many losses to bad teams to make the cut. So it's actually somewhat good for BYU to have Utah win.



Still, yeah, even when I'm sort of cheering for Utah, I'm still sort of cheering against them.

I was actually rooting for Utah. The PAC already looks silly this bowl season and so I don't care about their conference. I'm pretty much for most any team from the east/ southeast losing right now. I'm just tired of people from these regions thinking their teams are so much more superior... or maybe I'm just bitter about this bowl season... stupid BCS.

Stupid Utah. Didn't they know winning bowl games don't help your program? They're certainly not worth celebrating or enjoying. Even if they come against average opponents like Georgia Tech. They would have been much better off loaing.

I don't know what school you guys are referencing. You mean that school that sold its soul to the PC-police conference and is dropping its drum and feathers symbol and can no longer use the name "Utah" because it comes from the Ute Indian tribe and for some reason having an American Indian mascot is offensive, even if the tribe endorses that mascot and gives their blessing to the university.

I guess I can celebrate their win, because I hate their program so very much, I know that winning will just prove to them that being mediocre is the way to be.

Disagree hawk, I pray their football team ends up like their basketball team, TERRIBLE! I am of the Max Hall line of thinking when it comes to Utah.

I agree 100%, my last post was entirely TIC based on the silly post of cougman saying that BYU's program was HURT by winning their bowl game for the simple reason that he hates Riley Nelson.

As many of you know, I am almost half Ute. Almost. This year either PAC envy or beat down seemed to be at the root of a new behavior for me. I kept catching myself rooting against Utah for no good reason. Previously there was only 1 good reason - if they were playing BYU.



I am over it and glad they got this win. And I am sure Cougman will recognize this as further proof that we should have easily beaten Utah.



We will be ranked ahead of Utah and this win for them and loss for an ACC for will help us in the polls.

Did you see the game, lol? Utah is terrible. I know Wynn makes a difference but this Utah team was one of the weakest we've seen.

Utah and BYU had something in common this year. A very good defense. Unfortunately for us and fortunately for Utah - our defense had one very bad half vs Utah. More in common - QB problems. Utah's were bigger than ours. Unfortunately, BYU needed one more big hit on Wynn. Almost knocked him out - UW finished the job in the next Utah game.

More in common. Inconsistent special teams play. Neither of these teams were great this year. Both won Bowl Games. Utah was supposed to lose theirs.



I got my undergraduate degree in 3 years at BYU and could hardly wait to get out of the place - wannabe rock star. Got an MBA and grew lots of hair at Utah.



So I am 60% Cougar when they play each other which works the same as 100% but less venomous.

Bib, There appears to be some missing info about other behavior that occurred while at Utah in addition to your long hair. Too much huffing gas while you were in Gas Pumping 501 or some other mental impairing substance? :D jk.

I kind of understand it because I find myself rooting for Utah against other teams too (but never against BYU), but my reasons are first, Utah has given and still gives scholarships to many of the kids of my friends and neighbors back home and I know there is almost no way they can afford to go to school if not for the scholarships. Second, Utah is second in most LDS players and second in most RM's (the last time I counted anyways maybe USU has more some years) and I can't help but root for any RM playing out there and for teams that honor and don't discourage missions. Also, it helps that I have only visited Utah so I haven't had to deal with :utard: 's but I have to imagine that I would probably just shrug them off as the unintelligent, toilet water drinking, idiots that they are. I wonder if they have figured out that muss rhymes with puss? :lol:



Side note I also like the idea that only BYU and Utah won vs the East. I was pulling pretty hard for USU but they fell on their faces again. Don't know why they could have so much talent (as compared to their competition) and still lose to the teams they lost to (except BYU of course ;) )

Amen to this. I feel the same way. I usually always root for them unless they play us, but for some reason, this year was a little different. I don't mind Utah, I just hate their fans.

Ironically, one of my many part-time jobs supporting a stay-at-home wife and two kids while completing my education, was working my dad's gas station on weekends - playing in bars and clubs at night - computer programmer for both schools weekdays - teaching guitar lessons - and selling guitars. Luckily, the music part was fun and I liked school after my freshman year.



The Lord, as you know, Works In Mysterious Ways. He saved me from being 100% Ute. Once I decided to go to college - at the very last minute - mainly due to an arthritic condition called Reiter's Syndrome that popped up during my senior year of high school, I intended to go to the U having been a fan of Runnin Utes basketball as a young lad when I lived in Sandy. My girlfriend's parents decided to send her to the Y. Suddenly I was willing - even though I had ridiculed BYU with the Chant - BYU - Where The Girls Are Girls - And The Boys Are Too most of my teen years.



My Bishop when my single-parent, devout Mormon, divorced Mom moved us to Provo, before throwing her hands in the air and sending me to live with Dad in Heber, was Director of Admissions for BYU. I suspect he answered my mother's prayers and missed dead lines and poor

grades could not keep me from being saved. Luckily I had very high test scores. So my girlfriend got sent to SLC at the last minute. We showed them and got married. And she commuted to SLC and I commuted to Provo till the babies started coming. 10 years later, we divorced. Her parents were right all along. We were not right for each other or too immature. But at age 18, who listens to sound advice?



That is how the Bibster was saved from being 100% Ute. It took me several years to realize what a blessing that was for me. I still pump my own gas - but almost everyone does now. I guess I have an experience advantage when squeezing the handle - but I really miss that lever that used to make it run hands-free. Now the windshield never gets washed and the oil never gets checked.
