Favorite Plays of the Game

I absolutely was energized by the Matt Reynolds block on the TU defender with his helmet off. That play changed the team's attitude, showed they were going to do whatever it took to win, and helped them stay focused. Riely came through with a great pass and Hoffman willed himself into the endzone.



Second favorite play was Riley successfully getting first down on the 4th and 9. Made a great cut/angle to get 13 yards. He doesn't get that and game is over.



Third favorite - was any play KVN made for a sack or hurried throw. The kid is a man-child, beast.

My favorite play is pretty much anytime Riley gets outside the pocket. Tulsa bottled him up well on the play action calls, but he almost always makes a good play and doesn't settle for throwing the ball away by default.

That naked bootleg I think worked all of one time. Tulsa had scouted, prepared for and defended that play very well all night.

I'll tell you one of my least favorite plays was when the Tulsa player grabbed the BYU player by his leg well after the play was over and pulled him backwards and the refs said nothing.

You mean when the player pulled Matthews back to the ground after being downed at the 3 with under 30 seconds left, and the refs called nothing, followed by the fake spike and winning TD? I liked is just cause I was able to yell karma after the TD pass. :)

I love it when Falsalev caught the punt over his head ran sideways and then just like "Wes Welker" stopped on a dime and took it up through a seam for 20 yards up the middle.



I also really, really liked the misdirection play BYU ran with Nelson taking off running towards the right of the formation and getting the whole defense moving that way, and then handing the ball off to a stationary Kariya who runs it left for 8 yards. I watch football for plays like those.



I also love throwing from a formation with 3 RBs one down, and then two downs later, a running play from that same set.



I also REALLY loved Tulsa TD pass to their TE. Sold really well by their QB.

Agree with your selections. I loved the replays of Matt Reynolds pursuing & flattening the Tulsa player! Bam!!!! Ha-ha-ha!

Ya, that was a well designed and executed play. There were a few times yesterday when I coveted tulsa's OC.

Yeah, after Tulsa's 2nd TD, I said, that was a great play that would be very hard to defend by any defense.

Like others have said, the mostest bestest play was the Reynolds play. All I have to say to the Tulsa player is "Fall Down, Go Boom."

Yeah! Every time he ran that play it seemed that there was a LB right in his face! I had put the blame on the O-line, but it was probably more of a function of defensive game-plan.

Oh man! I was screaming at the TV! I wanted to reach through the TV and throttle #32.

All of these plays took place pretty much right in front of where we were sitting. I loved the helmetless block. What was really sweet was that it shut up the guy behind me that was yelling for Riley to "throw it away!!"
