52?

SI predicts that Tulsa will beat BYU 52-45. I can understand some picking Tulsa--the game will be close. But does ANYONE think Tulsa will put up 52 on our D?

Yeah, it will go into 7 OTs.

Maybe because the last time we played them they put up 55 on one of the best BYU defenses we have ever had.

That was after they had game planned against us for many months. For that reason I wouldn't underestimate their coaches' ability to find holes in our defense after having a full month to prepare.

Only if we have six or seven turnovers do we give up 50.

That Tulsa offense really surprised Bronco. The trick plays really confused his defense. They became one of the best defenses because no one could ever make trick plays work on them again. Teams that tried got a whole lot of negative yardage plays.

I watched a 7 OT basketball game once in Bartlesville, OK (a little before Noah's time). It was played between Sooner HS and College HS, cross town rivals, a year or two before they were combined into one HS because of declining enrollment. It was an amazing game! Sooner won.

If BYU scores 45 BYU wins. :)

INteresting. Are these the same coaches as back then? I haven't been reading up on this game at all. And now some of you have me nervous. That previous Tulsa game made me sick. They were killing our pretty decent (not sure I would say best D) defense. And we seemed stupefied with heavy feet.

Could our O really score 50 to keep up with apparently a Tulsa O that can?

Yes our O could score 50 to keep pace. Riley Nelson-led offenses punted 8 times in five games. BYU as a whole only punted 13 times in the last seven games. We also missed eight FGs in that same stretch. Our offense was rarely stopped by our opponents. We'll have plenty of scoring opportunities.

I don't believe it for a second.



No way does the defense give up 52. Not even against Oregon or Oklahoma State would we give up 52. These 11 guys play really well together. Bronco will have a great scheme ready to stop what Tulsa does well both through the air and on the ground.

Tulsa will be lucky to get 20 points.
