Limited pre-bowl practices

I was surprised, like many, that Bronco was repeating the (questionable) pattern of fall camp and not using every possible practice as an audition for the back-up QB spot for next year. Then I read the fluff piece in the DN about Bronco flying around Texas to promote the bowl, and it made much more sense. Consider: do you really want the first OTA since Heaps' announcement to occur without the HC present? Doman or Reynolds would likely be nominally in charge in Bronco's absence, but with his status for next year cemented (at least in his mind), Riley would probably be the one running the show. Not the best idea, in my opinion. Riley strikes me as the type that needs reining in from time to time.

Awesome, so now Riley is trying to subvert Bronco as well? That's excellent! I hope Riley can become the first player/coach in college football.



I guess I was wrong, I should have included Bronco on my poll last week of whom Riley would try to sabotage next.

I doubt Riley would be in charge over his OC and position coach.

For what it's worth, it looks like Tulsa's going light on their practicing, too. BYU is at no preparation disadvantage for taking the week off.

That is true but I am more concerned about getting a head start on next year. Some where I read that the limit was 20 hours a week and not 15 practices. Bronco has said he will have 8 or 9 practices. I am a little confused if he is hitting the limit or not except we know there are no practices this week. Tulsa will practice this weekend.

These guys are not professionals. They are students. Amazes me who the student get ignored in the student-athlete equation. Especially with talk of BYU's poor APR.



Giving finals week off is smart. Especially fora team that played a game in December. Tulsa did not. based upon that, we already have an extra week edge on them. And they took finals week off as well.
