1% vs. 99% Global version

I highly doubt the accuracy of this thing. I ran a few numbers through out of curiosity, and it seems way off. There are only 107,000 people making over $100K a year? That's just over 2,000 people in each US state, and that's before you start looking at Europe, Japan, and the Saudis.

These stats are off. It says I am the 107,565th richest person in the world. Then I quadruple the salary and I'm still the 107,565th richest person in the world.



I think the point they are trying to make is that if you make 48K a year then you are in top 1% of wage earners in the world. We are very blessed to be born and live where we do.

it must be kind of tricky to catalog the incomes of 7 billion people.



but I agree this IS the point. if you are born in this country, you're already in top 10% income in the world but probably much, MUCH closer to the 1%.

You must make a lot more than me. I make a decent salary, and it shows me as being #35,732,201 (which is in the top 1%). I wonder if it wasn't working correctly when you ran it?



I had heard on the radio that if you make more than $36K/Year, you're in the top 1%.

Reading some of the comments on this article, I would come away believing that Americans are hating themselves! What a bunch of ignorant idiots that post on that website! I'll never complain about the comments here again! (well - almost never). :whistle:
