Both teams are going to get some suspensions but Cincy is going to get the hammer.

Can you say thug city? Some things never change up there.

If his coach lets him back at all:

I'd have a TON of respect if Cincy's coach followed through with that sort of punishment.

Cincy has taken the jerseys away from the players and the AD and coach will watch the film and decide who get it back.



The Xavier coach basically said that he's not in a position to be a decision maker in what happens next to his players. Really? The head coach? You don't have any say? Take ownership of your players.

Okay...schools just came out with the suspensions and they are an absolute joke!

Cincinnati:

Yancy Gates, Cheikh Mbodj and Octavius Ellis are suspended for six games each. Ge'Lawn Guyn is suspended for one game.



Xavier:

Dezmine Wells and Landen Amos suspended for 4 games. Mark Lyons suspended for 2. Tu Holloway gets 1.



Cincinnati coach is at least attempting to hold his players accountable. Supposedly, he's take the jerseys away from all his players and none get them back until he believes they've proven themselves worthy of the jerseys.



Xavier's coach has basically done nothing and has deferred everything to his AD. Keep in mind it was his players that were talking trash and inciting Cinci, it was his player that threw the first punch, and it was his players that afterwards talked about how they're "gangstas" and their motto is zipping teams up (street reference to putting people in body bags).



It's appalling. IMO, NCAA should step in, and if I was the player with the split open eye I'd be filing charges against Yates and strongly considering a lawsuit against the conference.

How could LeGarrett Blount have been suspended almost an entire season while these punks do much worse (kick a guy in the face when he's down? really?) and then basically brag about it to the media afterwords, get a couple games...

pretty predictable stuff really. Coach talks big, makes a big formality about taking the jerseys, and then lets his players come back in a few weeks.



I guess BYU let Hoffa get away with a few punches back in the day though. :lol:
