Weber St Matchups

Abouo will likely get the first shot at Lillard as he is our best defender. Lillard is the key. If we can make him a inefficient scorer (out of the paint and off the free throw line) then I expect will be able get a big lead.



I think Harrison is going to get the chance to shine off the bench on Lillard as well.



Winder will have to stay focused and close to Bamforth (6'2" excellent 3 pt threat). I think we will see Winder play most the game again barring foul trouble.





Zylstra is going to be guarding their SF Otis who is a transfer from SMU. He doesn't appear to be a big time offensive threat and turns the ball over frequently.



I assume with Bullinger (their leading rebounder) hurt Fulton will get the start. I expect Hartsock to have a major advantage in the post against Fulton. If we get him in foul trouble they only have freshman to matchup with Hartsock or they could go small and zone us.



Davies and Austin should both have the quickness advantage against the Weber Centers.





Our game plan needs to be get the ball to Hartsock in the post and crash the boards. Also we need to play help D off the right players. (Read not Bamforth.)

If Abouo can contain Lillard, we'll be ok. If he can't, this game will be very close. I like having it at home.



I could see it being close early and then BYU pulling away late to win by 8 or so.

I wonder if Weber St is going to be able to rebound the ball without their best rebounder.

1st half in the books. Hartsock leading the way on the offensive boards and in the post with a double-double. Good team defensive effort on Lillard with Winder leading the way. Davies scoring in the post as well. Weber St bigs are athletic enough to hang with our bigs. Zylstra on his game offensively in the 1st half.



Rogers hasn't hit a 3 and is playing his normal gambling D. Harrison got a few minutes to end the first half and made one bad offensive play but 3 good defensive plays.



Cusick got some time after Winder badly missed two 3's early in the half. I don't didn't notice him much. Which was good because he wasn't getting beaten badly on D and not making mistakes on O.

The Deseret News said Brock Z did a good job on Lillard.
