Utah coach Kyle Whittingham has the team do onside kick when leading Wyoming 43-0.

BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall has the team take a knee at the 7 yard line and not run up the score when leading Hawaii 41-20.

I think what you posted is self explanatory.

Onside kick was unnecessary.

Taking a knee at the 7 yard line is also unnecessary.

Running the ball from the 7 yard line is also unnecessary.

Onside kick was much more than just "unnecessary."

Let's not forget that K-Whitt was once a good man. But you can't walk through a pig pen without some of the slop sticking. And when you live in the pen. . .that speaks volumes also.

The bright side is that because of the onsides kick we got to see Wyoming's coach salute Kyle in a never-to-be-forgotten manner that would be quite at home in a certain credit card's "priceless" commercials.

One gave good EXPOSURE on national TV. One, luckily seen by fewer people, was derided by national media.

One prompted a "bird" sighting on "national" television. The other didn't.

One feared losing to a really crappy team, because he does; the other, not so.

I think there is a time to take a knee and a time to keep going. Two mins earlier, keep running. If you can kneel the clock out, take a knee.

Loved that BYU did not score again on Hawaii. Rough day for Hawaii when some QB that can't throw 10 yards lites them UP. Great game. Well called by Bronco and Doman. So glad that they are both at BYU. The future is bright. Rise and shout.

I just about ran on the field, which was popular that day, and tackled Foote myself. But I was tired from my previous run and it was getting hot in that red suit. I had been rooting for BYU not to score again because they were already over my Cougar Prediction Game prediction and I was worried about the 4 guys nipping at my heels. But the rushing yards really helped me, so I was glad he got the yards but did not score. Otherwise, I would say put Lark and Foote in and let one of them score that final TD or one of the local boys. But kneeling was absolutely the right thing to do. I didn't catch one bit of grief at work this week and got some compliments. UH fans think Riley is amazing by the way.

Well, you have to feel for a team that resorts to wearing women's lingerie as part of their uniform. Did anyone else find that distracting?
