UNLV knocks off #1UNC

I am very happy for Dave Rice and his undefeated season so far and win over previous #1 UNC Saturday. My first thought though was to UNC, "Yea, how do you like playing UNLV in basically their home court (it was at the Orleans and not the T&M)." Welcome to our life (or I former life).



Good win though for Dave.

My first thought was - maybe it wouldn't have mattered if UNLV played in the Orleans instead of the T&M.

I was at the game this weekend. At least half of the crowd wore Carolina Blue. There was no home-court advantage for UNLV.

What about getting to go through their normal routine and sleep in their own beds at night?

I watched both teams play on Friday in the semis. Unlv was ok, but unc looked every bit their #1 ranking. I would have bet unlv getting beat by 15-20 points would have been a respectable showing. They came and played a great game. Their defense really did well against UNC who was far superior in personnel, with both bigger, faster and better players. I also liked that when UNLV had the lead they didn't try to run the clock out, but kept attacking on offense. Great job by dave rice and heath schroyer. Great win for these guys.



Yes, advantage to unlv for being in Vegas, but definitely wasn't the same advantage as the T&M. And, UNLV fans are still hideous, obnoxious rednecks for the most part regardless of where they play. A couple of times during the unc v SC game the unlv fans would break into their chant, "rebels, rebels, rebels" with the tomahawk chop. They were a little classless.

As a fan of both UNLV and the Y... I can say that yes indeed there are classless UNLV fans as well as classless BYU fans. The difference is the obnoxious UNLV fans are usually drunk. What is the excuse for the obnoxious BYU fans I have sat by so many times? Also, I have sat next to some very good, well-behaved fans in both Provo and Las Vegas and I really enjoy that. It's all relative.



Also, good point Schmoe about sleeping in their own beds that is an advantage I agree.

I have seen idiot BYU fans and ignorant BYU fans, but classless is not something I have witnessed very often from BYU fans. Have you witnessed a lot of classlessness from BYU fans? what have they done?
