UCLA not Bowl Eligible?

So after getting their butts handed to them by USC last night, UCLA ... er, the unranked Pac12 South Champion UCLA is 6-6. Now they're going to play Oregon in Eugene. So, if they lose this game (they will), they'll be 6-7. Does this mean that playing in the championship game will cost them their bowl eligibility?



If so, the Pac12 North will send 5 teams to bowls and the Pac12 South will send two, but neither of its top two teams, just #'s 3 and 4.



I'd say that the Pac12 South is a joke, but it's missing any semblance of a punch[line].

Should the Pac12 let UCLA "pass" on it's invitation to the title game so they can stay bowl eligible? Of course, this would mean that ASU would have to get a pass too since they are also 6-6. Maybe then Utah could go to the title game as the #3 team in the division since they have a loss to give before they lose eligibility. Or hey, just let Colorado go since they can't go to a bowl game anyway.



At any rate it seems that the Pac12's title game is going to cost them a bowl berth this year. Crack me up.

They'll go bowling, even if they lose, just watch.

UCLA could get in IF there are not enough bowl eligible teams. Utah St will get in before UCLA will.

The ideal situation would be for UCLA to BEAT Oregon. How cool would it be to have a 6 loss team in the BCS? Probably would get a couple with Big East sending someone too.

It would also mean that either Stanford or Oregon doesn't go BCS and would bump all of the PAC schools down a rung.

Same thing would happen under a playoff system. UCLA would make it at the expense of a more deserving at large team in the 7-8 range or the 15-16 range depending on playoff size.
