Coaches Poll

Depending on how far the 8 teams ahead of us in the Coaches poll that lost drop - we could be flirting with #25 after the bye. One of those 8 teams was Top 5 so they won't drop behind us - but the rest were ranked 18-30. We are ranked 31.



Basically, a bunch of teams now have 4 losses and we still only have 3. We clearly will be ranked at year end if we win out.

5 10-win and ranked seasons in 7 years - not too bad.

I think that would actually be five times in six seasons. '06, '07, '08, '09, and 2011.

AP is at 31 - up from not being listed last week. Coaches is not out yet. BCS Poll is projected to bump us up to 28. Coaches poll had us at 31 last week and should move us up a bunch.

Guess we will have to win a bit more first. Hope we play well next week. With fewer games on, maybe it will be an opportunity to impress voters.

A lot of teams are already done with their season. Unfortunately, that means fewer losses next week by teams ahead of us. Some top 18 teams play each other - but th eloser will not drop enough. I think we will be close enough that we just might crack the coaches' Poll nex Saturday with a win.



There will be a significant number of ranked teams lose thier bowl games. If we win ours - vs Tulsa - who is ranked right be hind us now but may be favored - that should jump us into all of the polls. Just need to win these last two.

Coaches only popped us up to 28. Most teams in the just aheadof us slots are already done. Texas and Baylor play. If Texas wins - Baylor may not drop enough. If Baylor wins - we edge Texas who is 26th with 4 losses. But that just moves us up 1. COnnecticut at 5-7 isn't likely to bump Cincy at #25. GA Tech and FSU are done. Maybe a convincing win would help us jump them - but they are quite a few votes ahead of us at the moment. So. MIss is only ranked #23 with 2 losses and probably will lose to Houston. But will that drop them far enough, having only 3 losses.



Anyway - you get the picture. A win over UH gives us a very, very, very longshot chance of cracking the coaches and / or BCS polls, but not a prayer of cracking the AP poll.



Not that it matters. The final poll is the one that matters. We need to win out to be in it.
