Some thoughts, early on.

Winder is our best PG so far. Cusick is serviceable. Zylstra can't get the ball down the court in a press. The Brock @ PG experiment needs to end.



Noah is far and away our best player.



We are not a run and gun team anymore. We don't have anyone that can finish at the rim (getting serious minutes currently).



Austin seems pretty good in the paint. Can't wait til he gets his legs back, and I hope they don't overdue it.



Harrison looks pretty good with limited minutes. I don't know if he can put it all together this year, but he will be a good player soon.



Rodgers looks really good off the bench as a scoring threat, but he still doesn't rotate well defensively in the zone.



Now that I think about it, most of the team doesn't rotate very well in the zone.

Winder definitely has the most talent at PG other than Carlino. He had a rough first half tonight. But I think he will continue to improve. Cusick doesn't screw it up and lets Abouo, Rogers, Davies and Hartsock make plays.



Harrison made a few more positive plays tonight. I think in the long run Zylstra's play is going to push him out of the rotation. Harrison, Rogers, Abouo and Winder have played better than Zylstra.



Hartsock's improved post game is a difference maker for us because of the defensive focus on Davies in the post.



Abouo is better when he doesn't force the action.



If I was in charge right now I would start Cusick, Harrison, Abouo, Hartsock and Davies. With Winder, Rodgers and Sharp as my main players off the bench. Zylstra and Austin to be used when foul trouble strikes.



I would close the game with Cusick, Abouo, Rogers, Hartsock and Davies.

Winder is absolutely the answer at pg. i think Carlino has a fight on his hand for pt when he is eligible.

Can't say how glad i am that we stole sharpe from the u.

Oh yeah, how could I forget? We suck at free throws.



I agree that Winder will struggle against Carlino for playing time, but Carlino is legit.



I seriously wonder about Winder at SG when Carlino is at point, though (depending on height of opposing SG, and whether or not we are in man coverage). Winder brings a speed and intensity that we haven't seen since LLoyd Jr. To steal a football term, he can stretch the field.



I am liking Winder the more I see him, but yeah, Carlino is legit.

i hope Carlino is legit, but i'll allow him to prove it to me. I haven't given him a pedestal yet.



I like this team more everytime I watch them (and with the WCC and ESPN/BYUtv deal I'll be watching them a LOT!!!). A lot of good players out there and they are getting better everytime they play it seems.



Harrison could be scary good by the time he's done at BYU.

I agree about making Carlino prove it to you. I have seen him play enough that I know that he can play. But I am all for seeing evidence of something before you decide on a subject. So I am there with you.

I almost think that you keep playing Winder at SG. He is outplaying Zylstra at this point.

ESPN tends to put top 25 and whatever games they are broadcasting on the default scoreboard. If you select WCC scores we are there.

That game changed when BYU went into a zone in the 1st half. Similar to last year, teams just have to start jacking up 3 pointers. Enjoyed seeing a little better defensive presence.

I like the energy of all of our young Bigs. They are still freshmen and show it but they don't look lost on the court like some we've had in the past and they are in there scrapping. I think Pope will be able to work these kids into a serviceable inside force.
