11 players are averaging more than 10 minutes a game. They have 51 steals as a team in 4 games. For comparision BYU has 21 steals in 5 games. They must be a full court pressure team. Winder/Cusick will be tested in their ballhandling and the team will be challenged in our press breaking. Despite all the steals they only average 65.5 ppg. BYU averages 75.7 ppg.



PV A&M also has more size than any team we have faced to date. They start 6'11" 220 lb Montgomery and 6'9" 215 lbs Riathin.



Without haven't ever seen PV A&M play I think we will offensively outclass them.



Additionally we should have a size advantage on the wing.

Should be a fun week of cougar basketball, I am hoping they play well tomorrow. So they are confident going in to the weekend, in what will be some tough games. I am excited to see where this team stands by end of the week.

Davies at 6' 9" has 15 lbs on their 6' 11" guy. He should be able to handle that.



51 steels is a ton of steels. Wow. Will be a test of our guards and our teams' overall ability to take care if the ball.

Strangely the 6'9" player is listed at the center and the 6-11 one at power forward.

Things I learned from tonight-



Zylstra against athletic teams is limited to 3 pt shots. He also struggles to keep guards in front of himself and need help D all the time. He also turned the ball over 2 with 14 minutes of play. Another poor game or two and he will play himself to the bench.



Cusick and Winder split time today. Cusick makes less things happen but had no turnovers. Winder pushes the ball and runs fastbreaks well, in addition to being a better defender. However, he is a higher risk player with two turnovers tonight.



Abouo, Hartsock and Davies continue to lead this team with scoring, defense and rebounding in the paint.



Rogers is settling into his role as a scorer and accepting the fact that he doesn't need to drive into the paint. Catch and shoot or one dribble and up. He also is very effective in his zone defense.



Harrison is coming along slowly. He makes less mistakes and is learning what he can and can't do against this level of competition..
