The Rudy moments last night were nice

Props to Coach Mendenhall for giving Matt Marshall and Matt Edwards opportunities to score for the first time in their final games as Cougars. And props to the Matts for making the most of the opportunity.

This and props to Jake Heaps for finding Edwards - that and several other plays where he got seniors involved will help him be a more effective team leader. It was more about team and less about self.



Those things make college football fun.

You mean props to coach Doman. The Sr's getting in the end zone is all on him and Heaps. Bronco said as much in his post game presser. Said that Doman designed those plays and then called them when the time was right.

I'm surprised Jake threw to them. They were seniors and I thought all the upperclassmen hated Jake and were all conspiring against him?

In fairness, Jake didn't throw to Matthews. Matthews replaced Jake on that play after the time out. Just another example of the poor coaching that breeds resentment and poisons the team attitude.

Jake did throw to Matthews. He didn't throw to Marshall. But clearly Marshall, was able to use leadership skills he picked up from Riley to get Jake benched for a play so he could run the Riley wildcat package and score. This also prevented Jake from throwing a touchdown and thereby raising his PER.



For the record, my two posts are completely TIC. It's great to see BYU reward players who have put a lot of time, energy, emotion, blood, sweat and tears into the program for many years.

It was almost like the team alerted the announcers to the possibility, they were very quick on the uptake about Edwards
