Mars⢠Brick wall: A key last-second goal line stop, led by BYU commit Kona Schwenke (6-5 200 DE), secured a playoff win for Kahuka (Hawaii). The Red Raiders held on to beat Mililani 35-27 in the first round of the playoffs. Kahuku and Schwenke stopped Mililani's Dalaunte "Taz" Stevenson at the 1-yard line with 13 seconds left in front of 4,000 at Carleton Weimer Field. "Our coach (defensive coordinator David Te'o) said to stack the gaps. Mililani did a good job moving the ball," Schwenke told the Honolulu Star-Bulletin."It feels good. Our goal is to win the OIA, then states, so this is a big step."
⢠Glad to be back: Collin Koeshian's return from two games missed because of separated shoulder was, as expected, spectacular. Keoshian (6-2 225 LB/RB), a 2010 BYU commit, carried six times for 138 yards and three touchdowns as Santa Clarita Christian School (Calif.) destroyed Hillcrest Christian 56-0. Keoshian had touchdown runs of nine, 40 and 42 and was also 3-of-5 for 69 yards and a 31-yard touchdown pass. He also recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass. "He's a Division-I athlete and a difference-maker," SCCS head coach Garrick Moss told the Santa Clarita Signal. "When he's not out there, the confidence of the team drops."

Phillips carried 22 times for 112 yards in the second half, including a 32-yard run on fourth-and-15 to allow Boaz to run out the clock. Boaz finished second in its region and will have home-field advantage for the first round of the playoffs.
