Joe Paterno has cancer

Paterno's family has just announced that Joe P has lung cancer. I think this helps explain the transfer of his financial assets earlier this year to his wife.

Whoa. Rough week. Tomorrow someone's going to run over his dog.

I was going to reply to this and say, "yeah, and he wont call and report it to animal control" but that would have been really poor taste so I refrained myself.

He also was going to wait to disclose until after he retired. Now he needs some sympathy, which explains the timing in his son making the reveal.
