Bobby Wolford decommits. Going to BC

Considering he is a non-LDS Catholic kid, and that BC is a Catholic school, this makes some sense. Boston may not be much closer to Provo, but ACC schools sure are.



We have like 5-7 other kids that can play LB in this class as it is, so this is not a huge loss in regards to positional depth. Opens up another spot in the class. I hope they don;t just give it to some walk-on, and that is goes to a new recruit as this was a small class as it is.

Coaches are looking at some JC RBs for next year. Chances are that Wofford's scollie will go to one of them.

Kind of interesting how the value of his verbal commitment changed from June 2011 to present. A man of his word?????

He's what 17? Kids make mistakes, maybe BC, a catholic school that will play closer to home pretty often hadn't offered yet. Seems like a much better fit anyways. Wish him the best and move on, not question his integrity.

BC has really struggled and seems to be lacking talent. I was hoping we would get his brother at QB in a couple of years.

certainly better now than later. I'd hate for someone to arrive and lose eligibility when it's not the right fit. Also, headlines are a lot bigger when someone transfers...



even though we have a lot of talent at LB, I think this is a big loss for us.

Who do you have an exception with that Bronco has given as scholarship that was a walk-on?

I know 17 year olds make mistakes, but you don't say those things and make these decisions not that I know the kid or ever will but I have no respect for people like this. Baring there's some major issue here we just don't know about. A man of his word goes through with something whether they like their situation or not. Why is it so hard for these kids? If you have any doubt don't commit right away. Give it time until you know for sure, and then this wouldn't be an issue.

How about they get some jc offensive lineman. our runningbacks will be fine if our line can open holes for them.

I miss the fountain of lineman that was Ricks, man they gave us some good lineman. I think we need to start our JV program up, get these guys experience without burning up the redshirt years.

How about getting Hiva Lutui 4 star C who wanted to come here but committed to UCLA.

Perhaps we can get Xavier Sua Filo to come to BYU after his mission. If Neuhisel goes, and with Chow gone, might improve our chances with him.

To be clear I don't think he's an idiot... Jeeze even this many hours later the whole thing still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not even that I wanted this kid to go to BYU so badly, I have no idea if he's highly touted or not. I just don't like the way people talk out of their behinds and get away with it so easily. I know I'm probably just being lame. I was 17 in 2004 so I'm not that old myself and still have at least a similar mindset to somebody his age. A little different but similar. I know I've made mistakes in my past but as I said before don't commit to something and not follow through. For example I work in a cabinet shop for a job, and when we get these guys that accept a job and then just do do half ass work, but don't do bad enough to get fired. It just really bothers me. I feel like when people get a job, that they should at least try to better their selves at what they do, and not do the bare minimum in life just to get by; but this happens all too often. I know my example isn't exactly the same but it kind of somewhat expresses my opinion.

As someone else said a waffle now is better than a stack of waffles later. BYU and Wolford will better off if he is happy wherever he ends up.



THere is a reason there is this COMMIT period where schools lock themsleves into a committment, but players really ar enot locked into their committments. THe schools are th ebig boys in this transactoin and they are expected to roll with th epunches and realize that you win some an dyou lose some. And 16 year old decisons that don't look so good at year later at 17 or 17 year-old decisons that don't look as good after the senior season is over - cut em some slack.



It is the ones that go at the last weekend and especially the ones that are LDS that bother me the most. even then - maybe for the beter - but that does not make me a big fan of them moving forward. I wish Bobby well. He isnot LDS - he does not have the sam ereasons to be here. It did not hold.



I wish Ben Olson well - but I quit being a fan the day he skipped town and even though he was a good kid from a good family and my son-in-law played with him in high school. I won't remember Bobby Wolford's name unless he wins the Butkus award and someone with a good memory reminds me that we losthim as a recruit.
