Abouo an embarrassment

Abouo is an absolute embarrassment out there right now. He's playing completely out of control and selfishly. I definite expected better from him this year.

On the bright side he is playing great defense. He came up with two steals and a block.

Also just had a great pass to Collinsworth the elder. Abouo still wears blue, so he's good in my book.



Just got another block followed by an assist.

Emotional, much? He couldn't find his shot, and had some poor shot choices, but he hustled more than anyone else out there and had some pretty stellar defense. I'd say "an absolute embarrassment" might overstate it a tad. Of course, if you happened to post this right after his running, off-balance three when he was already 0 for 8 or 9, I can see why the emotion would come out... :lol:

The guy is a senior with plenty of experience but still is an absolute liability on offense. But he does play great defense. His problem is that he's an absolute black hole on offense. I just expect a lot from a senior on this team.

Gotta agree with this. Selfish and still clumsy. I am not bothered so much by him not shooting well - that happens. But he is always clumsy and he took shots that neither he nor anyone else should have been taking in that game situation. They should have been pounding it down underneath and only taking those outside shots when they could not get a shot down low.



Trolls are gong to have fun with this game all year.

What an embarrassment! no matter how you look at it. Just glad even though it was close we didn't suffer the same fate!

Abouo wasn't the only embarrassment out there last night. The whole team should be ashamed. The team defense was horrible

I missed the game, but certainly know Abouo's tendencies. I thought he'd have a coming out party last season offensively. When we didn't see it, I essentially took it to mean we'd seen as far as Abouo will get.



Appreciate his hustle on defense. That's invaluable.



On offense, this team needs scorers. Would hope Abouo could fill some of the void, but not holding my breath. Noah, Davies, and Rogers are going to have to share the brunt of it.

My observations and conjecture is that Charles was forcing things a bit. Almost like he was trying to assert himself as "The Sr" (along w Noah) and that is bad for his game. When he lets his defense drive his game and allow the offense to come when it presents itself, he does and did last year, much better. In other words, i really think he is trying to break out of a "role player mode" and take his game to next level. Isnt going to happen. He's a fabulous defensive contributor and will settle into a better pace once he accepts this.

Cannot hate on his effort or defense.

Guy was a rebounding machine tonight. He had like, what, 10 rebounds in the first 10 min of play. Crazy.

Abouo definitely played well against Longwood. Exactly what we need from him. Hustle on defense and on the boards, that will lead to points and a great season.

Hartsock is the type of player that isn't going to get a lot of attention because his style is less flash and more consistent. He slowly but surely get rebounds and points and does the small stuff that makes good teams successful.



Davies is still a project. Has huge games and then disappearing acts. Will be interesting to see if pope can get him playing at a high level each game.

Davies is our best player by a mile. He disappears because we stop passing him the ball. This year's team needs to feed the post better then get their looks from inside-out passing. W need to run our O through BD then let him feed cutters or spot up 3s. Change is offense, but it would work for this group of guys.
