The Story on our Deep Snapper

I was not able to watch the game, but from the reports, including Bronco's, the shocking thing about the TCU game was three botched snaps by our deep snapper on punts. There must be a story here, that just does not happen; once maybe, but three times in the same game? Was the deep snapper playing with a broken wrist? Was TCU slapping at the ball as he hiked it? To me this is the story of the game. Interceptions and fumbles happen in just about every game, but these bizarre snaps to Stephenson on punts is just crazy.

Snaps looked great. Securing the snap by the punter doomed the ST play.

Three misses by the punter? No, the reports said two of the punts were low and left, and one was bounced off the ground.

Hmmm... STephensen might have had to move a little to get to the ball, but not one of them bounced off the ground. Unless you're counting that first one that he missed and it bounced off the ground. They were NOT snaps that an experienced punter should be struggling with. But don't take my word for it, go and watch the highlights.

2/3rd way through those highlights was the worst of the 3 snaps. You decide if he should have dropped it after it hit him right in the hands.

Ok, then the story of the game is what on earth was wrong with Stephenson? was he getting pressured? lights in his eyes? it's bizarre to me that something like this happened, it hadn't happened all year.

Distracted. First punt his "closing gate" closed a little too soon and it almost looked like the ball brushed the gate. Forgivable. The next punt, TCU brought a lot of heat and Stephenson had to get rid of it quick. By this time TCU is in his head and he is thinking about getting rid of the punt instead of securing the ball first and he dropped the ball again.
