** BYUtv hadn't uploaded the replay yet, so I couldn't verify who was the intended target on one of the INTs and in the thread got both players mentioned. If the INT was to Matthews, the Holt's RER was 0.00 (187.42) and Matthews' RER was -4.88 (91.07)
- BYU's PER on 3rd down 110.56. On the year, BYU's 3rd down PER is 101.14. Last year our 3rd down PER was 110.48. In 2009 it was 156.90. In 2008 it was 171.67
- Some offensive numbers versus TCU:
- The 28 points was the most since 2006.
- The 24 first downs was the most since 2005.
- The 139 yards rushing is the most under Bronco.
- The six plays of 20 or more yards equals the combined number of the previous three games.
- Some defensive numbers versus TCU:
- 14 first downs allowed was the fewest under Bronco.
- The 283 yards allowed was the fewest under Bronco.
- The 138.90 PER allowed was the lowest since 2007.
- The three plays of 20 or more yards allowed was the fewest since 2007.
- BYU has forced all of 4 turnovers against TCU under Bronco and 0 since 2008. BYU has given the ball away 16 times against TCU.
- Since 2005, BYU QBs have been sacked 25 times, including 18 the last four games. BYU has sacked TCU QBs a total of 12 times, including 6 in the last four games.
- In 2010, BYU had two games with three or more turnovers. Yesterday was BYU's fourth of 2011.
- 16 of Bronco's 24 losses have been by 10 or more points.
- Riley's 111.59 PER vs TCU is poor. When BYU has a PER between 104 and 118, the record is 17-22 (.436). That kind of performance won't get it done.
- This game was lost in the first half. BYU's PER was 88.78 (Riley was 94.69). In the second half it was 129.69. BYU's season 1st half PER is 119.22.
- The fact that BYU has struggled against TCU for four straight games suggests a real coaching issue. It suggests a failure to find ways to attack TCU and defend TCU.
- The 25 sacks allowed suggest a real lack of knowledge on the staff on how to identify pressure and come up with schemes that can limit that pressure.
- The lack sacks by the defense suggest a lack of ability to diagram schemes to bring more pressure.
