Brock Zylstra

What happened to him? Did he find the magical basketball from Space Jam that had all the NBA players' talents trapped inside during the offseason?



I thought he had a nice series in Greece but thought it was probably a fluke or something. He looked incredible last night.

He's just worked incredibly hard over the years. He red-shirted before his mission and has been learning the system from one of the best players ever at BYU the last two years.



It looks like he's learned quite a bit from being on the sidelines observing and watching. Now we'll get to see if he can take advantage of this opportunity.



Terry Nashif is proving to be a very good coach. He helped make Ben Murdock into a serviceable MWC point guard and Jimmer into an All-American. Now we'll see what he can do for Brock in the WCC.

I've been impressed with Zylstra from time to time. He's not Jimmer, but it's always seemed (to me anyway) that he was better than the fans give him credit for. I guess we'll find out this year.

IMO Zylstra is using his BBIQ, size and skill to overcome his below average athletic ability. He is a very good standstill shooter and he has improved his ability to hit runners in the lane. It is key that he knows what plays he can make and which he cannot.

Zylstra had a very nice dribble drive penetration at the end where he weaved in and out of everyone on the floor to get a nice layup in traffic. He certainly looked athletic on that play.

Saw some highlights of him in Europe. He can play. We'll need his shooting for sure.



I've always liked his hussle.
