BYU getting votes in the polls

Maybe I have missed it in previous weeks, but this week I noticed BYU has votes in some of the polls. Despite the wimpiness of most of the schedule, the two lost games might end up being one of those "might have beens".

proves that some people just aren't paying attention. BYU doesn't deserve to be getting votes IMO. Beat TCU, then sure. But not based on our current body of work.



In fact, any team that gets beat by 44 points at home by a team with a losing record should automatically be ineligible for rankings for the rest of that year.

TCU has 2 losses and does not have many votes in the polls themselves.

So how about 2009? We ended that year in the top 10 yet we got our butt's beat by a bad FSU team at home that year.

I see your point, but a 26 point loss to an eventual 7-6 FSU team is no where near as embarrassing as a 44-point loss to the eventual 4-8 :utard: in which we looked like a highschool JV team for the entire 2nd half.

I agree that it is embarrassing but if BYU wins out, we deserve the top 25 at the end of the year, no matter what we did in the 3rd game of the year.

I think the biggest hope I have for this year is that it will add to the number of 10+ win seasons. Then in a couple years when the stat comes up of 12 out of 15 years with 10 wins, most people won't feel a need to go back and see what a weak schedule we played in 2011!
