Jacobson: 102.50 (106.85)

Hoffman: 292.73 (178.46) - season best.

Holt: 125.60 (203.03) - Holt has 10 catches on 12 targets

Matthews: -100.00 (110.26) - no catches since the TD vs USU

Cutler: 142.00 (21.00)

Friel: 184.00 (340.60) - proof that out TEs need to be more involved.



Jake was 1-1 for 8 yards on 3rd down (167.20 PER).

Riley was 3-5 for 88 yards and 1 TD on 3rd down (273.84 PER). The last two games, he's 10-14 for 158 yards and 4 TDs (260.51 PER).



BYU's PER was 187.36. That marks a season high and the highest since the CSU game last year (242.64). It was also the fourth straight game of PER improvement.



BYU is 33 of 50 (.660) on 3rd down since the start of the USU game.



Idaho St's PER (79.01) was the lowest of any BYU 2011 opponent.



BYU never makes defensive adjustments? Idaho St had 125 yards of offense on their first three drives. They had 126 on their final 10. The two 20+ yard plays by the Bengals were the fewest since the Ole Miss game for an opponent.



BYU had 10 3rd & 7 or longer against UCF. The Cougars have had just 11 in the last four games combined.

So, Friel's ONE CATCH this season proves something? ;)





Also, isn't it possible that after ISU's first three drives, BYU's defense went from playing at 50% to playing at 70%?

What it proves is that a TE who has barely played can still come in and make plays. Very few of our TEs have been effective. As a group their collective PER is 149.93.

Friel will be the best TE of the bunch, but he's just back from a mission and the coaches are not going to feature him just yet, but one more injury to a TE and he'll be starting and starring.
