Preference: Fame or Riches

Which do you prefer?



TCU wins out, represents in the BCS, and brings the MWC and BYU a boatload of money.



TCU loses to Utah, and when BYU beats Utah it shares in a conference championship.



In my personal life I'd prefer riches with no fame; for BYU I prefer a co-championship with less money. We already got our athletic dept. payday in Dallas.

I can't stand rooting for the ewe, and I'd rather the BCS buster be from the MWC than the lowly WAC. Even if we share the conference championship, we still got our butts handed to us for the second time in a row by the horny toads. I dunno, tough call, but I probably just want TCU to win out at this point and us to take second place, and 11-2 with a win in our bowl game.

Riches. A team that loses AT HOME twice by 30 points doesn't deserve a trophy.

I really don't like to play TCU, but I'm a huge TCU fan now. I think they have all the tools to beat the rest of the MWC handily. I hope they get a shot at a big name in the BCS like Utah did last year, because I think they have the SOS to jump BSU in the BCS poll by the end of the year.

Actually TCU has now past BSU and it will stay that way unless they lose. They look just as good as the yewts last year did. The goal is to get an auto invite. Well if the conference keeps busting the party then it should happen. I don't know if it will though.



Take the money. It could help future recruiting and improve our chances to get a bid down the road. It is a no brainer.

After what I saw yesterday, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter which I prefer. The ewets have no chance against this team, especially in Ft. Worth.

I really thought the Cougs would make a game of it against TCU - Bam!! I was wrong! I think TCU will "roll" them Yewts hard - they are that good. The total package. I also believe - to add salt to the wound - the Y will beat them Yewts.



I want TCU to bust the BCS & smash their opponent.

I just want TCU to crush the Yewts by 30 pts.; and the Cougs to do the same.

If you were to pose a hypothetical scenario in which team A plays team B, and team A beating team B would give BYU a share of the conference championship, I would gladly accept that scenario for BYU's sake. But when you insert the utes for team A, I start to see red and logic gets muddled. Money with no championship starts sounding like the superior option. I deeply want what's best for BYU, but having the utes in the mix always messes with my definition of what's actually best for BYU.

I can't help but want TCU to kill the Utes even at the cost of a conference championship.

Good to see, according to Jay Drew's blog, that Coach Mendenhall agrees with me: fame over fortune, have the Utes beat TCU and BYU beat Utah, for a shared conference championship.



"Make no mistake about it. BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall will be cheering for the University of Utah when the Utes (No. 14 in the BCS standings) take on No. 6 TCU, even though TCU has a much better chance of making it to a BCS bowl game.

The Utes and Horned Frogs meet on Nov. 14, the same day that BYU is playing at New Mexico.

Mendenhall is still holding out hope of getting at least a piece of the conference championship, and the only way that can seemingly happen is if Utah knocks off TCU and then BYU beats Utah in the regular-season finale in Provo."
