Big Mess Conference - Really Big Mess?

I suggested this last week. Maybe Hair reads CC. Many will scoff at this - but a 32 team everybody else conference with a play-off into BCS AQ might be the best thing availalbe to these particular teams - and a lot of fun.

I voted yes. These teams do not have any better options. It won't generate Really Really BIg Money. But it will generate bigger money than they are going to have when Big E loses BCS status and the others continue to be denied such access. If they organize the play-off / beat-dwon properly - it could crate a ton of excitement.



I would reserve an open date(s) for every team in late Nov early Dec to beat down quadrant to Quadrant - top to bottom - evenly matched teams - top teams advancing to title game and BCS. Even the less successful teams get interesting match-ups and regional rivalries between pods will develop.

12 years ago, who knew Boise & TCU would be awesome? I would have bet on UNLV & SDSU. That's basically what BYU did when it joined the MWC. Picking the best of the leftovers is too much of a crap shoot.

No, the NCAA doesn't want competition. This could spawn these teams branching off and forming a league. I seriously doubt the NCAA lets this happen.

This is why I would like to see it. If they all schedule their twelfth game as date and opponent TBD and alternate home field sites by division each year or bring them all to one area like SLC where they could use LES, Rice Paddie, and USU fields and stage 8 games same day, they could do it within NCAA rules.
