BoiseBYU5. 9-9-9...no this has nothing to do with Herman Cain. It is what BSU's yardage would have been against Colorado State Saturday had BSU kept its foot to the metal. After 3 quarters BSU had scored 63 points against the Lambs. As it was, BSU amassed 700+ yards, including 393 on the ground. So CSU Lambs move to no. 5
4. Colorado Buffaloed. The team is 1-6 and have now lost 21 straight road games. Bad news: they do not have CSU to look forward to--you only get to play them once guys....
3. Fool's Gold Golphers. Best news for this team this week is that they did not play...At least not that I can tell! It is possible they did play but are in the witness protection program for their own safety.
2. UNLV Reefers. In an effort to jump start a bad offense that was averaging only 137 yards passing a game, UNLV started Sean Reilly. He promptly threw for 79 yards on 7-16, was sacked four times, had a fumble and threw a pick. I guess that experiment did not quite work out as hoped....
1. New Mexico Locos. Team lost again. They got 89 yards passing on 11-29. Sean Reilly might be able to help them, I think. Fortunately, they only played in front of 15,000 UNR fans...
In the UNLV v. WY game, I note that Muhammad had one catch for 0 yards while Kirkegaard had one reception for 12 yards. So I guess we can conclude that at least in this game, philosophy triumphed over religion.
Best name of the week: Idaho State has a receiver named Rodrick Rumble. He is actually pretty good. There is no truth to the rumor that he only went to ISU because they start the game with the due saying "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!"
Teams really going down: Georgia, FL, Ole Miss and Bryant (they lost to Monmouth (NJ) 40-35)
