ESPN Reporting That Big Easy Offered 5 Schools

CFU, Houston, and SMU as full members and AFA and BSU as Football only. Gonna bump the exit fee from $5M to $10M if they accept. Those last three words may indicate that some fence sitters may be more willing to stay if the Big Easy gets these guys. But hey - a nickle - a dime - it ain't a very big golden handcuff.

There are some doubts about whether BSU and AFA will accept. UCF got a separate offer without contingencies. The other four got an offer saying the bump up in exit fee is contingent on all four signing up. BSU reportedly told MWC Hair they are not leaving. AFA reportedly has cooled to the Big East deal since Navy is wavering and Army said no. The Big Country announcement has also reportedly had some positive effect. If AFA and BSU do not go - then the exit fee does not go up to $10M and perhaps Houston and SMU may bail too. UCF seems almost certain to go. The others may - or may not.

It makes sense that UCF would go with less reservations - their basketball team's not half bad. I'm not even sure SMU has a bball team, and Houston isn't exactly Phi Slamma Jamma these days.

Heard from a not-so-reliable source, who is still alive, as Cougarbib2 failed to put him away, that OU and UT are going the indy route. :evil:

Actually, that littel birdie has been telling me that there have been two or three jets parked at the Provo Airport this week with origins and ties to Oklahoma and Texs locations and that those very same jets were in Florida a week ago when a team from Oklahoma was playing in Florida. He di nto give me sources when I texted him back - but when he called me today - he again confessed - Rumorboard.



He said there are photos of Lawboy greeting the visitors as they got offf the plane.
