Absolutely Perfect INDY Schedule - Trick 1984 ?

This is kind of a trick question. I was waiting to see if anyone called me on the trick play. So I came back and added this comment as a teaser. I will eventually divulge the hook, if no-one else does.

And the only way to get this perfect schedule would be as an INDEPENDENT. Do you agree that this is a perfect INDEPENDENT Schedule?



Pittsburgh - Big Easy or ACC - Utah plays them Saturday

Baylor - Big 12 - Good some years like this year - not so most years

Tulsa - beatable team from Oklahoma - Big Country

Hawaii - Rival of sorts - Big Country - could add extra game if we want

Colorado State - Regional - Big Country

Wyoming - Regional - Big Country

Air Force - Big Easy or BIg Country - Regional

New Mexico - Regional - Big Country

UTEP - Regional - Big Country

San Diego State - West Coast - Up and Coming - Big Country

Utah - Rival - Regional - PAC 12

Utah State - Rival - Regional



Bowl Game



This is an absolutely perfect schedule - do you agree? Please add a brief comment after voting.

I voted yes. We should play this schedule every year or one just like it. I will save my best argument until later so as not to bias the poll.

It's a good schedule, but not a perfect one.

Too much MWC! Been there, done that! Don't need MN, SDS, AF, Wy, Hawaii, or even Utah for that matter. Might as well be back in the MWC.

No. It's missing the Big Sexy. The perfect schedule would include a marquee matchup against a top notch program in its prime. We need an OU, LSU, UO, Neb, etc. game on their to give the SOS and pollsters something to work with.

No Wyoming, no NM no team ranked under 80 except for UT St (and that should change soon)

No. I don't want to play AF. Don't like the chop blocks and guys getting injured.



Plus you need one big name team.

Agree. That schedule with one marquee game a year would be pretty close to perfect.

I guess all of the COnf USA and MWC teams are Big Country now.

How bout if we won all of those games and the Marquee Matchup came in the Fiesta, Rose, Orange, or Sugar Bowl?

Hey, 1984 called and wants their schedule back. ;)

Not a great Pitt team this year. But they are giving Utah major problems this year - Utes down double digits in 1st half. Utes miss Wynn. No doubt. Langi is 2nd string. Utes just get better RBs than BYU almost every year. Even though I got my MBA at Utah, I keep having to remind myself not to root against them. IDK if that is due to the beat down or PAC envy or to prove my long held belief that neither they nor we can compete weekly in a BCS conference. This has never happened to me before this season. I never root for eastern teams - what's up with me.



Back to OP - Pitt would have beaten us if we played at Pitt week 1. They look better than Ole Miss did. Utah may come back. Kickoff return and blocked punt for TDs are the only Pitt points. Bam Utah scored after bad Pitt punt and tenva tipped ball TD. Neither team is great on offense. Both good on D.

I wondered who would notice. This schedule worked great in 1984 and would get us a much better bowl opponent now than it did then - hopefully we could handle the bowl opponent after running this table.

I don't like how tough games and easy games are separated, 2 bye's in 3 weeks (right?) and 4 straight home games. Nobody could've put this sched together like TH though.
