So dont read into this but the news is WVU has an invite to the B 12 effective today. This is big news on a lot of fronts.

It doesn't seem like it. I think I would have liked BYU in the Big 12, but maybe we can get to another level as an independent than we were in the WAC/MWC days.

If Big 12 is going to invite a team as far out of their footprint as WVU, I still don't understand why they don't make overtures to lure V-Tech out of the ACC. I don't know how married VTech is to being in the ACC, but if they can't get in to the SEC, the Big 12 is a better place to be than the ACC. And the Hokies have the talent to be immediately in the top 3 in the Big 12 where as in the SEC they'd be more top 5 in most years.



As much as I want BYU to join the Big XII, I think the Big XII would be an awesome football conference with the addition of TCU, WVU, and VTech.

This makes no sense. Either it means that Mizzou is gone or that the B12 is attempting to go back to 12. Either way, BYU remains silent....

How long until WVU can join the BIG 12? Im thinking atleast another full year. So maybe BYU is waiting until the 2013/2014 season to join. This way they'll have 2 years with WCC and 2 years of TV time with ESPN. This way they also dont look like the bad guy with the WCC and the WAC who helped the school out alot when they left for indi. Without those 2 conferences doing what they have done wouldnt have been possible. So maybe BYU feels like they owe them a couple years.



Or maybe all this is just wishfull thinking on my part, maybe im just trying to make sense of it all because TH doesnt give a rats as# about the fans and what we would like!

WVU is 27 months away at best, and nothing official has been released, so it was as solid as my BYU to B12 comments a few weeks back. Not buying it just yet.



Personally, I think much of this is to squeeze BYU because Mizzou is leaving for 2013, and BYU will be required then.

WVU could go whenever they want if someone writes a big enough check and if Big Easy gets BSU, BYU, and possibly others to raise their BCS calculation. Or BCS just plays let's make a deal with Big EAST/WEST to get another BCS bandaid that would put any team that is much of a BCS bust threat in the Big Easy.

That would quiet the whole BCS inclusion noise until USU rises up.



Without adding another AQ conference.

That western division of the potential big east might as well be the MWC. I'd be pissed if we gave up independence to join that conference. If all those teams joined that conference I still don't think it would retain its BCS affiliation. Even if it did, all we need to do is get the BCS to amend their non-AQ qualifier to include BYU and we'd have pretty easy access to the BCS since all the other potential busters are already in...

Agreed. And I wonder what old Craig Thompson is going to do if this all goes down - merge with the WAC? CUSA? Both?

Big East met today and talked about increasing leave fee from $5M to $10M and also talked expansion. Sounds as if UCF is first team up, with Navy, BSU and AFA all being discussed.



If Big XII is going to poach any BE teams, it is going to have to happen soon.
