It may be against SJSU, but how confident are we that Heaps would magically start being as accurate as Riley has been tonight?

look who Heaps comp was ole miss, texas, utah and look at riley part of utah st and sjsu..i wanna see him play against a good team before i get all pumped about him being so great....bottom line i just want BYU to win, iam not drinking the riley kool-aid...yet hahahah

Really, how many attempts did he have? It was just a quarter that got eaten up with the run.

He was shaky at best. The TD to McKay was nice, but against this team I expected more.

3 turnovers and a few other bad decisions makes me nervous for OSU next week. It was noticeable the play calling changed after the 2nd pick. The run game looked good, but the passing left plenty to be desired.

He was great early. Absolutely great. Then sub par after that. Poor second half. But first half was great.

Still seems that teams that see Nelson for a half are able to figure him out for the most part. The run game is what was impressive tonight. Outside of the first quarter or so, Riley wasn't impressive. Good win.



I think the time on the bench will do Heaps some good, but I'm also fairly certain he'll be the starter by the end of the year.

Fellas, let's look back at last week and consider how many points BYU was able to score with the "other" QB. Nelson changed the entire game with scoring points. It was ugly in the second half, SJSU adjusted and once again BYU looked lost for a while.



BUt we didn't have to come back for the win. SJSU was as good as advertised.

Where did all the excuses from you guys go? Dropped balls, playcalling, O-line play???



Or did everything get fixed on offense and Nelson just sucks?

There were some dropped balls. The play calling and tempo were better in the first part of the game. The O line played marginally better, but against the worst defense we have seen all year.

Maybe 3 drops. Oline pass blocked well, and we ran the ball well (the SJSU defense is so bad that I can't put a good measure to if it was a "we're back" kind of showing, or just that they played okay against a terrible team, not sure there)



The offensive playcalling was absolutely fantastic tonight. I don't think it could have been better. The execution of the playcalling could have been much better, though.



We had no less than 5 or 6 screens (all of them went for big yardage), and the short passing was great.
