Where is Holmoe?

As one of the faces of the athletic department. Where is TH? I haven't heard a word from him throughout all of these past couple of months. We have roasted for Heaps for not being accountable for his actions and his poor performance. But nothing about Holmoe, it sounds like he has lost the best opportunity in BYU athletics history and he has not said a word. You get paid the big bucks to deal with these tough situations. The athletic department gave the fans unrealistic expectations talking about an NC, and when its time to play with the big boys we run away and hide behind replay rights.Nobody cares about re watching a game versus Idaho St. or Weber St. It seems like this regime could care less about the fans and what they think. The arrogance will turn fans away from the cougars.It seems to me that TH is not getting it done in dealing with negotiations. The only home and home he has been able to obtain is with C-USA and BSU. If we get excited about playing BSU we should have stayed in the MWC. Holmoe is not getting it done.

I'm thinking this decision may have been made above his pay grade.

Not defending him really. I do think that he is hiding out from the media and fans and that seems more cowardly than good business sense. I'm sure he thinks that not making any statements is whats best for the negotiations. I'll get a lot more nervous about this whole thing falling apart if Holmoe all of the sudden starts talking to the media. That is a sure sign that the negotiations are blowing up.

I'm guessing that you want TH to play a game of cards with all of his cards facing out? We don't know why BYU wasn't invited to the Big 12 today but TCU was, but we know why BYU chose indepeendance. We either believe them when they say tha tit takes a few years to get scheduling ironed out or we don't if we believe them, then we don't get in a hissy over the TCU to the big 12 deal, and if we don't believe them, we should have never left the MWC. I'm just happy that I get to Watch BYU on the ESPN Family of networs AGAIN this week

Latest twitter action is the hold up with Big XII is now BYU, and BYU is in play. From Thamel at NY Times, and others. So contrary to reports, TH is not curled up in the fetal position in a cave near Provo Airport.

If BYU is not the next team invited to the Big 12 Holmoe will go down in history as having blown the biggest opportunity in BYU history. This is not just about football. We have a national power of a basketball team that is playing in a conference where the biggest arena's (with the exception of our own) only hold 5000 fans. This deal needs to get done and BYU's "complications" need to get fixed.

I can only hope that everyone who is here flaming Holmoe and BYU finally gets and accepts big 12 offer, or it is revealed it was something out of his hands will come back on this board with the same passion and apologize to him.

It is out of his control if the Big 12 says "we don't want you", other then that he is in complete control. If the board of trustees doesn't like the idea, it is his job to sell them on it. If there are "complications" causing a break down in the negotiations, it his his job to get them ironed out. Bottom line is, he is the guy that is in control, he needs to get the deal done.

Sorry, when BYU's board of trustees doesn't like the idea, it's probably for very good reasons.

We have absolutely no concrete details, but everyone is acting like BYU just missed on a can't miss ride to the NC. Newsflash- There is no "real" NC. :P

Holmoe isn't terribly prolific in scheduling for either football or basketball. This has been pretty evident for his entire reign. We were fortunate that previous ADs scheduled the FSU, Arizona, UCLA, and BC series. He's a very good AD just not very good in all aspects.

But as mentioned earlier, the Big 12 thing goes higher up. Holmoe doesn't have to say anything because nothing needs to be said.

I will 100% eat crow for sure. I would eat crow all day if we got into the big 12, but I have my doubts.
