WickchadThe timing of all the conference realignment has not been favorable for BYU. Had this all occurred next year:
- TCU would have been locked up in a 27 month agreement with the Big East.
- We would have spent 2 years in the WCC and it wouldn't have looked as bad as leaving after 1 year.
- The other Big 12 schools would have a full year to see that the Long Horn Network isn't going to be as big a deal as they are making it out to be. ESPN probably loses a lot of money on this project...
- We'd likely be coming off a 10-3 season instead of a 7-6 2010 season.
As it stands TCU took away our main advantage of being able to join the Big 12 conference next season. I get the feeling that the SEC presidents may not like Missouri's leaked comments about the SEC being second choice. Missouri might not be able to get the votes for an SEC invite to ever come. We might be looking at a 10 team Big 12 until the conference gets raided again by the Big 10, SEC, and Pac 12.
