Cougs_RuleBest blend long term to develop Jake and Win games this season: (some of you will cringe)
1. Play Jake in the first half. If the O moves the ball and scores, great.
2. Play Riley in the second half (or when its clear Jake is struggling or that the team or game needs a pick-me-up) to bring in energy, team unity/momentum, etc. And if I have to pick a half where Riley's strengths can be optimized, its the second and not the first half. With fresh legs in the first half, teams can more easily shut down Rileys legs.
Point is, not sure Riley's style of O can be sustainable over a whole game. So, ala Texas, use both to change things up.
I know this sounds like QB2--and it is. But its what we've got. And as Bronco said, "its not ideal" but it is what it is.
Thoughts? Arrows?
I would really be surprized if Jake redshirts--as much as that may seem to be needed or the some people's answer.
