When has ANYTHING of major significance happened at BYU, program wise, fast, or even expeditiously? It doesn't happen and it won't here. Knowing our track record, because we want to know, we're still out a couple of weeks with knowing for certain.

It's because they don't want those Mormons to come back into the state! I'm pretty sure Governor Boggs' order to exterminate has been lifted.

Missouri is gone. b12 needs to move on without them. i would add three teams right now if i were them with the fourth ready to go if they bolt.

I don't think that this affects BYU in any way.... It's not like we'll say - "Sorry no Mizzou - no us" to the Big 12

Sounds like Texas is the cause of the problem once again. This article claims that the agreement the Big 12 members were going to sign regarding TV rights would grant tier 1 and 2 rights to the conference for 6-13 years. Also it required the schools to agree not to broadcast anything high school related on their tier 3 networks. Texas refused to agree to that. The NCAA has allowed them to broadcast highlights of high school games in a news like format.

Per Chip Brown, the Big XII schools agreed to make the agreement for 13 years last night.



IF people are really getting their panties in a bunch over playing high school highlights, similar to what every other local news station does--as in reporting the news, then I think they have major insecurity issues. ESPN shows highlights. KSL shows highlights. Why can;t the Texas network report after the fact? That is just dumb.

it is not texas. texas just gave missouri and the other stupid schools millions of what was their money under the current revenue sharing model. to also say they can't use the lhn the way they want is asking too much in my opinion. missouri is free to try and do the same if they want. schools should be allowed to make additional money if they can.



missouri is just blowing smoke. they want out and always have. it is obvious. they are gone, the big 12 should move on. nobody cares about missouri. all they have going for them is tha they have a big tv marke.t

This does affect BYU. It's not just that losing Missouri is one of the top markets in the Big 12 (after Oklahoma and Texas of course) it adds to the infighting and insecurity of the conference.



Are they quibbling over something dumb? yes of course they are but the fact that they are quibbling STILL seems material. Are we going to have to play silly games like this in the future to have our voice heard? Does anyone in this conference trust/like/care about anyone else? Does it require stiff contracts like these to get people to even be polite to each other?



Does the Big 12 need us? no doubt, but the longer this ridiculousness continues, the more BYU should be asking themselves whether these are the kind of people you want to be tied to for the next decade. I know our alternatives are extremely weak but we learned the pain of a bad partner in Comcast and the mtn.

The Mizzou TV market is not as big as thought. A large chunk of the KC market is KU fans, or KSU fans. Perhaps St. Louis is Mizzou, but really, who knows. Let them rot in teh SEC. They can't win in the Big XII. They being Vandy Lite in the SEC. All for a mess of pottage. Idiots.

This is no different than what every school thinks... everyone believes they are a bigger deal than they really are. With very few exceptions, this is the case for every team in the country, including BYU. we all have an inflated view of our importance because in our own sphere we are a big deal but our sphere is not the only sphere.

Let Mizzou do what they want. They absolutely will get creamed every year in the SEC. They couldn't even win the big XII north every single year for craps sake... really? Playing the powerhouse football schools of ISU, KU, KSU and CU? Really, only Nebraska was any good there and they've only recently come back to life.

Who knows how this effects byu, if at all. I really need to stop reading up on this stuff, it's shortening my life.

Its all on Missouri now. Texas has agreed to not air any content regarding high school sports on the Long Horn Network. Missouri says its 50/50 that they stay in the Big 12 which basically means nothing has changed...
