How confident are you that we beat San Jose?

So we did this last week for the Utah State game. Most people were cautiously optimistic, unfortunately that was too optimistic and the game was really in USU's hands if not for the spark of bringing in Nelson.



So lets try it again. Assume that there are dire consequences if you get it wrong, ie, don't just vote with your heart. Really put some thought into this.

I like the first one, there is 0 chance we lose to USU....



Nelson will start till he plays a real D, and plays bad like last year, and imho that most likely will be TCU, or till he gets hurt.

I'm going with an 85 percent chance. SJSU is no cupcake. They're a competitive bunch. Under Riley, I'm confident our offense will be able to score. Our defense will play better too knowing all their hard work isn't going to go to waste. That said, I think we're still a bit turnover prone. We take care of the ball and run our game we should be just fine.

He will struggle vs TCU unless he doesn't. But yeah - tougher teams will bring down the old PER a notch - that is why we have avg PER - and of course Jake had a very low average PER over two seasons. TCU would eat Jake for lunch. They might eat Riley for lunch - unless they make him a legend.

Not strong results, but they have shown some life the past two weeks. Maybe I'd drop my prediction from the 90s to the 80s.

I think we beat SJSU 100%. Our D will make sure of that.



If Riley starts the game and we blow them out, who comes in to do mop up duty? Jake? or Lark?

I'll vote on this one. I'd like to see Lark. He has seen little game time so lets give it a shot.

If Riley starts, then Heaps is the top backup. I don't see what putting in Lark would do for you if Heaps it the top backup--humiliate him more? I think some humble pie is good for him, but I'm not wanting to bust him up into pieces. He has talent, just hasn't seemed to find it consistently this year. I can't put my finger on it.

Doman showed some guts last week when it was clear Jake wasn't getting the job done. It took a while, but he got there. If courage is contagious, he'll start to make bigger, gutsier calls and take advantage of opportunities he sees.



I like our chances. 85%.

I put our chances are good. Its not that I don't trust Riley Nelson with the offense, but I've already invested so much into how good I think this offense will be only to have my hopes dashed so many times that I'm taking a 'prove it' line to this team.

Oops, I just realized that I didn't change the USUs in the poll options to SJSU. So even though it says USU has 0 chance to win this game, of course it means SJSU.

I was going to mention that. Thought about voting 100% with a cute remark about the game already having been decided and enough time that the score cannot be revised after the fact like it was in Utah bs USC.



Decided not to waste a vote. Went with BYU as a slight favorite.

chances are improved over last week. but not much better. prove it, for sure. But I do think that the O finally busts the 30+ point range and maybe even more.

Definitely still a lot to prove. Too early to presume anything.

This is going to be another difficult game. SJSU beat CSU in Ft. Collins. This is the same CSU that beat USU in Logan. The same USU we barely beat. We will need Riley to play strong in all four quarters similar to the 1.5 he played bs USU. If he continues his leadership and grit, he will "will" us to victory but it will be close. Where there is a will (or Riley), there is a way.
