2 temples in Provo

What do you guys think about the Church rebuilding the tabernacle and having it operate as the 2nd temple in Provo?



I am so glad they are fully restoring the exterior of the tabernacle. There's a lot of great history in that building, and I think it's awesome that Provo is getting a second temple.

I think this is the real reason we won last night.

When I was young my family lived in Provo and we went to the Provo Tabernacle for stake conference. I was really excited to hear the news that not only will they rebuild it, but that it will be made even more special than it was before.

Wife and I were in the car when we heard. AWESOME!!!



Next thoughts: how much do property values around University and Center increase this afternoon? What about parking? Does this become a "walk-to" temple serving the downtown professional community of Provo?

My mom was an opera singer before she passed away of brain cancer a few years ago. Years before she once was a soloist for a series of concerts at the Provo Tabernacle for the Messiah. I got to go see her sing there. Nice place for a temple if you ask me.



Now we can all watch the attendance of the Provo Temple drop for a few years while everyone goes to the "new" temple.



and what are we going to call it? "Provo 2"? "New Provo temple" NuSkin Religious center?

I think the new one should be the Provo temple and rename the old one either "Cougar Temple" or "Lavell Edwards Temple" I'm pretty sure there would be support...right?

It does seem like NuSkin is completely taking over Provo. I think making it a temple is an awesome idea. Is Provo the first city to have two temples?
