Of course USU didn't prepare for him. Unless their coach isn't a complete idiot and knows that a guy who's got a sub 100 PER isn't going to stick in the game forever. But, even if he hadn't prepared specifically for Nelson, lets not forget that the USU defense faces a mobile quarter back every day in practice. During spring and fall ball, that's solely what they work against.
Yeah, BYU made a change that USU had to adjust for, and that is always going to take time, but it's not like they've never defended a mobile QB.
