Hartsock to hometown rag--"Back to the run-and-gun"
Hartsock talked to the local Bartlesville newspaper, and according to him, BYU will be playing high tempo offense again.

I take that to mean an emphasis on the pass and quick scores from everyone, not just the PG position.

This sounds good to me. I Think Hartsock's experience this year, playing in place of everybody that got injured or HCed, will elevate his game next year. He'll be a couch on court and BYU will be more diverse.

Too much run and gun may limit Popes influence on our Bigs which might not be the greatest when trying to land recruits like Jabari Parker

Why not? I thought Parker was more of a tall guy playing guard than a short post player. He is 6'6"- 6'8" and plays pretty much any position, but his role model is Oscar Robrtson, so I'd guess he fashions himself more of a guard and would likely love the run and gun style.beauso79 wrote:Too much run and gun may limit Popes influence on our Bigs which might not be the greatest when trying to land recruits like Jabari Parker

That's what I thought too. I thought he was more of a wing scorer than low-post.BYULV wrote:Why not? I thought Parker was more of a tall guy playing guard than a short post player. I believe I've seen him listed at both 6'6" and 6'8". Either way he'll add to the team. I think his game will be somewhat like Abouo's and he'll be able to play where needed.

Re: Hartsock to hometown rag--"Back to the run-and-gun"
Amare Stoudamire made a name for himself in the run and gun. So can other bigs that know how to run the floor and can score when the offense does set up. I'm not worried at all.

So, the team that plays almost the fastest pace in all of basketball is going to go even faster. Sounds fun to me.

So, who scored more points per game, Jimmer his senior year (of college), or Hartsock his senior year (of high school)?
