Re: NEW 2020 schedule
Holmoe's email last night to season-ticket holders was not at all comforting.
He mentioned that BYU was watching "impending decisions made nationally and locally in the coming days" to "determine whether or not we play this fall".
The only impending local decisions I can see taking place in the "coming days" would be from the BoT or University leadership.
I think after the Big10 and Pac12 news today BYU is out for the Fall season, but just wants to wait for the last moment so they risk breach of as few contracts as possible.

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
So long as BYU feels it can match the COVID protocols of the ACC and SEC, then if the BIG 12 and Nebraska want to play, and the ACC and SEC keep going, we need to play. Its a chance to make alliances that could lead to conference membership. If I'm Holmoe, I call the BIG10 and PAC-12 folks and get them to guarantee games in the Spring, or I call Nebraska and get a game, then with Navy, Houston, and Nebraska on the schedule, its time to call every BIG12 and AAC school. They will all need games. You only need 8-10 games to play.

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
As expected, North Alabama's conference just cancelled Fall sports
BUT--they are allowing their schools to play Fall non conference games if they want, so the BYU game is (for now) still on.
So BYU still has three games total on the schedule.

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
Are any of you actually thinking BYU will play a game this fall? It's not happening, folks.

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
At this point, BYU should keep the schedule to four games or fewer, so that everyone who wants to red shirt can do so.
BYU PER W/L Since 1972: 432-76 (.850)
(8.4xYDS)+(330xTD)+(100xCOM)-(200xINT)

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
Sounds like August optimism. BYU will find a way to lose even if we don't play any games.

Re: NEW 2020 schedule
With the ideas floating around out there about how to play Spring football in 2021 and then turn around and play Fall football a few months later, I'm getting concerned now about BYU's 2021 slate in the Fall, and even BYU's opportunity to postpone and try and play in the Spring.
Some Big10 members are floating the idea of an 8 game conference-only Spring schedule starting in February followed by a 10-game 9+1 or even conference-only Fall schedule starting in October.
Those ideas leave little if any room for out-of-conference scheduling. If both Spring and Fall seasons are truncated, there's not a lot of room on the schedules for BYU to stay on current schedules, much less to be picking up games.

Brigham Young University and Troy University today announced the schools have agreed to a home-and-home football series, with the first game being played on Sept. 26, 2020, in LaVell Edwards Stadium.
The second game between the Cougars and the Trojans is scheduled for Sept. 5, 2026, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy, Alabama.
