New formation with Ineligible WR
New formation this week with the slot receiver on the line ineligible due to the outside receiver also lining up on the line. Usually was Houke. I kept worrying that he would go out for a pass for a penalty. Each time he went downfield it was a running play. On pass plays he would go backwards for a bubble screen. This is what they did on Leslie's last TD. The safety ran up for the screen and got burned over the top.
They usually left the tackle uncovered on the other side and motioned the receiver to the opposite side. It will be interesting to see if they run a tackle eligible pass out of that formation in the bowl game.

Interestingly enough, Cal also runs an ineligible slot receiver formation and has had a lot of success confusing the defense and getting them to waste a defender on him.

Interesting. Things you miss when you can't see the game I guess.
AFR spent some time on eligible receivers last week, so that was good to learn more about that.
