This Just--China Edition (and some Taliaban too)
China on a reform binge! No more labor camps where police could throw you in for several years, for any reason and with no independent review! This is fantastic! Maybe next they will actually allow someone to worship as they see fit?
More on China! No more one child only policy. Harsh harsh policy required abortion and sterilization for those who had the temerity of having more than one child. Magnaminous gesture now allows some people to have more than one child. For them, the forced abortions and sterilizations now don't come until AFTER baby number two. What progress!
Still more on China. Great Britain commits to $25 m to help Phillipines. That comes out to about one dollar for every three Brits. China commits $100,000. That comes out to about one dollar for every 130,000 Chinese. No trade surplus there developing
Pakistaoni Taliban has internal divisions in the wake of leader's death. The hardliners go one way and the moderates another. Specifically, the hardliners think the punishment for listening to a banned radio broadcast is to cut off both ears. The moderates think different--you should only have to have one of the ears cut off.
