I know Kansas has historically been the doormat of the B12, but this is supposed to be their peak season so they shouldn't be underestimated.

So many games can go either way. It is hard to say.

I don't have a game-by-game prediction. My general prediction would be that BYU wins a couple of surprise games early, and loses some games they could or should have won later in the season, most likely because they are beat up from playing the tough schedule and not having enough depth at positions, which will likely be a problem for the first few years of the big 12.

There are 2 parts to the schedule that give me some extra thought. The biggest is in week 3. If BYU has a good system implemented and cruises through the first 2 wins, and plays just right in Arkansas, and if we pull off that upset, then I think we have a barometer for an 8+ win season. Beating Arkansas would make me think we can handle Kansas in the next week too. If Kalani can stack everything right, this game could be a lot like the Wisconsin turnaround. I think we have the ability to beat Arkansas, I just hope all the bounces go our way to make it happen. If BYU starts 3-0 we are in business.

If you ask me if BYU has a chance to go 1-3 against Texas, TCU, OK, and OK State, I will say yes. I don't know who of those 4 we will knock off, but I think we get one of them. I could see a late season upset against Oklahoma at home to become bowl eligible. I could see having the bye week just before TCU as an advantage that helps us pull off an ugly road win.

BYU will get 1 of those 4. Mark it down baby

I am feeling more optimistic on the season after all of the reports that I have heard. We are hoping for 6 wins. I think we will get 8.
