BYU has also had discussions with TCU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State of the Big 12 about possible September matchups to replace lost games, the Deseret News has learned.
“I have had a lot of conversations with a number of people,” Holmoe said last week, noting that “it would be nice” to replace Power Five conference teams on the schedule with other Power Five teams, “but it might not be realistic.”
Those are all Big12 teams. I like that.

Re: Trickle down impact of BIG10/PAC12 playing conference only
BYU better hurry up and get some September games scheduled, because October games won't be getting played this Fall.
If pro baseball, with all of its $$ and resources, with paid players who can self-isolate can't make it work, how is NCAA football going to keep its nose clean when a core aspect of your model is the fact that your players have to go to classes and interact pretty much daily with dozens if not hundreds of strangers on campus?
I don't think sports is sustainable more than a month or so without a "bubble", and even less sustainable with the NCAA student-as-an-amateur model.

SEC goes to conference only season so we lose the Missouri game. Big12 is meeting this afternoon to see what they will do.

No Missouri and no possible match up with Alabama. This was definitely sucky news. I don't think the Big 12 will come to BYU's rescue. A home and home with Massachusetts isn't so bad, though.

Re: Trickle down impact of BIG10/PAC12 playing conference only
Chatter is building for BYU to Big12 for this year. I heard their fan boards are talking about it and support it. Networks will not pay as much for a 10 game season and do not want crappy games. I think this just might happen.
It is possible that we play 10 Big12 games and then add one or two more at the end to get to 12. We are not a member of that conference and so do not have to stop at 10. We just can't do it up front due to maybe getting sick before Big12 games.

At this point, BYU should schedule only 4 games so that everyone who wants to, can red-shirt this year and retain their current level of eligibility.

Reporters can push for BYU, and fans can push for BYU; but until an influential decision maker pushes for BYU, it ain't happening.
