Season predictions

Post by cscoug »

I consider myself a pretty optimistic Cougar fan. So my outlook on the year probably reflects that. But here are my season predictions:

First tier games- Utah, Tennessee, USC, Washington.
Prediction: 2-2
Most likely wins: Tennessee, USC

Second tier games- Toledo, USF, Boise St, Utah St, San Diego St
Prediction: 3-2
Most likely wins: USF, San Diego St, ???

Third tier games- Liberty, Idaho St, UMass
Prediction: 3-0

Bowl game- ???
Prediction: 1-0

I see (hope for) a 9-4 season. That's a great build on from last year, but... we lose tonight.

Yeah this is pretty similar to my line of thinking. I think we definitely can go 2-2 in the first 4. I think we beat Utah and Tennessee. I don't care that Tennessee is an away game and an SEC team, they are not good and we should not be losing to them. They haven't been good in over a decade.

I just remember a few years ago when we would have threads like this half of us were "predicting" undefeated seasons. Not that it was actually going to happen, but it was fun and encouraging. It was fun being blue-eyed.

Now... it's: at best we go 2-2 to start the season and we finish 9-4.

I had the same thought as I wrote the post. But to be fair, we were 4-9 2 years ago and we are increasing our scheduling strength. This is a process. I'm encouraged by the improvement we are having, particularly along the interior. We were weak there under Bronco. I also love the improved secondary talent and depth. And it looks like we have a quarterback that can really lead us. I hope Kalani can get us back to where we are looking forward to possible undefeated seasons.

I must be the wet blanket here ... I think we are darn lucky if we get a win in the first 4 ... 1-4 is optimistic, I expect 0-4. Beyond that I generally agree with the OP ... so 7 wins this season (but I wouldn't be surprised at 6-6).

I used to be solidly blue-goggled ... my hopes haven't dropped, but my expectations have.

Lots and lots of losses. Like 8.

Base on the regular season schedule, 6-6 would be the worst.

BSU is down 7-5
USU toss up but if we win 8-4
Beat USC 9-3

The three probable losses Utah, Tennesee, and Washington....But I refuse to predict any losses for my Cougars....13-0

Expectations have been lowered with Independence and the current coaching staff.

0-4 to start. 4-8 overall. I can't get behind a Sitake coached team. This year will be more of the same.
