Trammel??

Post by golong »

what ever happened to the great, promising cornerback named Trammel? He got injured last year, but this year, is he even on the team? the coaches never talk about him, he's not in the three deep at corner, what happened to him? anybody know?

There was an article or two about the corners this week quoting the DC as saying he is going to play 3 of the corners more heavily and is "not bringing anyone else up". Preator, Davis, and Daniel, specifically. He then said the Nebraska transfer might slide over from safety as needed, and Skype PoVey would be used in emergencies. One article ssid, "not Trammel". So, he seems to be on the team, but either in the dog house, injured, academics, or otherwise not ready to play. Maybe they want to redshirt him. Not sure if he even has one available. Whatever it is, they are not talking about it. IDK.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

He was mentioned on local talk radio this past week while they were discussing depth. Basically they said he is "soft as butter" and "doesn't like to hit" which has left him in the dog house of Howell/Mendenhall. I guess he has even spent time on the practice squad and the commentators were saying "he isn't winning any playing time even with the depth issues".

Wow, I do not like to disparage any BYU player, but if you can't earn any PT with this secondary, that's one bad football player.

I should have included the names of those who were having this conversation on the radio--it was Hans Olsen and another former BYU player who does talk radio these days--I don't remember the name. But it wasn't his usual show partner (Scott Gerard) on that show.

It's also possible he's not fully healthy. He had a serious knee injury and it's possible that he simply isn't able to recover as quickly as he and the coaches would have liked.
