Jazz out of Playoffs - For Now

Fri., April 12th. The Lakers won, the Jazz won, and the Mavericks won.

Kobe went down with a probable achilles tear. Out for the rest of the season. Who knows about the Playoffs.

Lakers have the last Playoff spot and 2 games left. Jazz are 1 game behind and 2 games left, Mavericks are 3.5 games back and 3 games left.

Sat., April 13th - The Lakers, Jazz, and Mavericks were all idle. Lakers still own the last playoff spot, the Jazz are 1 game behind. Only a couple games left in the regular season. It's nervous time for the Jazz - serious crunch time. On a neg. yet pos. note for the Jazz, Kobe tore his tendon and will be out 6-9 months. I wish him a full recovery. No one wants to win that way. But, injuries are part of the game. At least there were no cheap shots involved. Just a clean, nature induced tear. Mother Nature and aging is brutal.

Sun., April 14th. Wow - not looking good for us anti-Laker guys. Even without Kobe, the Lakers won tonight. Lakers are still in the last Playoff spot. : (

The Mavericks lost and they are toast this season; will not make the Playoffs (3.5 games back, 2 games left).

The Jazz were idle and lost .5 game. 1.5 games back, 2 games left. A slim chance they'll catch the Lakers - but still a chance.

Mon., April 15th. Jazz win, Lakers were idle. Jazz keep Playoff hopes alive. Lakers own the last Playoff spot. Lakers have 1 game remaining on Wed. vs. Rockets. Jazz have 1 game left on Wed. @ Memphis. It's crunch time.

This is it. Tonight's the night - for all the marbles - as it should be. Last game of the season.

Jazz must beat the Grizzlies. Lakers must lose to the Rockets. The catch is, the Jazz are away and the Lakers are home. Bad karma.

Well ...... we shall see. Let's go Jazz!!!!

Pathetic. Very disappointing. Tough to watch. Jazz lost, Lakers won (even without Kobe). Jazz are tossed out with the rest of the refuse. Next year - as they say. I have no expectations.

The Lakers are actually playing better without Kobe. One of the best one-on-one players? Sure. But one of the best players in the game? Sorry, the best players make those around them better.

I'm glad the Jazz didn't make the playoffs. I hope it's the impetus for change, because the organization has really fallen on dark times since Larry died.

Sadly, this is the absolute truth, and it looks like the only way that the team will every be competitive again is with an owner who has drive and a passion for the game, which will probably only happen if the team is sold -- meaning it won't stay in Utah.
