Then our coach would be Mark Madsen:

I believe that if he wants the job and interviews like he wants the job, Madsen will be the #1 choice.

He was the #1 choice for UVU, but didn't interview like he wanted that job.

After reading some articles on the candidates, I think I want Madsen more than Pope.

I agree. So much so that I might even feel disappointed if anyone other than Madsen is selected.

I'll be excited with either, to be honest.

I still expect a max of 15 wins next year, but they both have good upside.

I'd have to see the schedule before making a prediction on wins and losses. I've come to believe that 20 wins is the floor. Not only because Dave Rose did such a great job as a coach when BYU was in the MWC, but also because there are enough patsies in the WCC that even a disinterested coach should be able to win 20 games a year. Harding, Baxter, Haws form a decent nucleus.....okay, I admit that there's not much else...yet.

BTW, I just heard that Sister Lisa Harkness is giving the closing prayer in the afternoon session. I wonder if she is related to Hannah Harkness Madsen. Perhaps sisters?

After the people I've heard interviewed this week, if I had to pick between Pope and Madsen, I'd take Pope and that's only because of the proven ability already to coach and recruit at Div 1. I don't think the learning curve is that great that Madsen will not be effective quickly to learn and I'm just a bit more excited about his upside, so from my perspective at this time, I like them both.
