Who is the new coach?

I would hope that BYU and Holmoe are doing their due diligence and interviewing multiple qualified candidates. Even if Pope is the right guy or first choice, I would hope that they wouldn't just blindly offer him the job on day one without at least considering other qualified candidates. Who knows, Barret Peery or Mark Madsen could blow you away in the interview.

Alex Jensen interviewed on Saturday per BYUSN and SL Trib. The Cleveland Cavaliers also supposedly have him on their list of potential candidates.

It's a busy time for him as the Jazz are gearing up for the playoffs so if he wan't really interested he probably wouldn't have interviewed, at least that's what BYUSN brought up and I have to agree with that line of thinking.

Also heard per Ben Criddle that Mark Madsen is interested and definitely wants the job.

How funny that we're hearing the new coach will be named Mark. Which Mark, we're not certain, but this should play out by early next week. I can't imagine it going further.

The posting says it is open till 4/9 (next Tue) and a lot of coaches (including Pope and his assistants) will be at the Final Four hoopla (meaning unavailable for several days) so the decision process isn't expected to even start until mid next week. Decision would probably be end of next week at the earliest.
